So, this begs the question: what questions should you be targeting?

Well, here’s a technique that I use: I take my main keyword—let’s say, “kids’ bikes”—I type them into Google, and Google will give me questions that are related to my topic’s main keyword.

I can type in ‘can kids bike?’ or ‘how kids bike,’ and when you do that, you will get a long list of questions.

So, you then cross-reference these questions by doing searches on them on Google to see the quality and the depth of the content out there.

Well, the good news is that a lot of the time, most of the content suck.

Most of the posts are very short, and some of them are even on forums or on Quora.

In other words, if you write a long, comprehensive, and complete answer, you will beat all those results.

Now, can you imagine how many of these questions you can pack in a post? And if your post is really long, you can accommodate a lot of these questions!

So, even though these questions get very little traffic from Google, if you dominate enough of them, your website can get a decent amount of traffic!

That’s how you make money with your blog, and that’s why you have to write at a very high volume.

So you may be thinking to yourself, “This is impossible because there’s only one of me! I write at the rate of 35 words per minute. How am I going to produce thousands of words in a week or in a month?”

Well, you have to understand that a typical blog must have over 100 1,000- to 2,000-word posts for it to have a fighting chance.

So, how do we reconcile the two?

Well, if you’re just going to write everything by yourself, you have no chance. Forget about it; that’s a nonstarter. It’s not happening!

The good news is there are two alternative ways you can pull this off.

The first way is one of the most common and first-thought-of solutions to volume content production problems.

I’m talking about hiring talented and experienced native English speaker writers like Andy Williams, Michael Pratt, and Gene Eugenio.

There are actually a lot more writers who are qualified for the job, but I remember these particular creators the most because they’re also renowned for charging very little for high-quality work.

Some of these writers write their own stuff while others farm out to agencies they own.

You can also outsource through bulk writing service contractors.

You can visit places like Fiverr, Bulxter, or PeoplePerHour.

There are agencies that’ll give mass produce content for you for, basically, pennies—a pretty good investment!

On the other hand, you can try the other method: do everything completely yourself.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, but it’s not what it sounds like.

I’m not talking about agonizing over writing 35 words per minute. Actually, this method will turn 35 to 200 words per minute.

That’s right! You can produce as much as 25,000 words in a single day using this technique.

It’s called dictaphone writing or dictablogging.

Basically, you get a microphone, get an outline, and improvise on that outline as you speak your contents into the microphone.

3. Freelancing

Freelancing is the best option to secret for students! If you are an office wren and have some free time, you can also go for freelancing without any hindrance!

What kind of freelancer do you want to be?

I’m a freelance copywriter. I’ve been at this for over 11 years. And I can give you a few tips from my own experience…

1. Don’t quit your day job until you have some steady clients lined up. Start your freelance work on the side. It takes time to get a freelance business off the ground. So it helps to keep working your regular job until you are earning enough money as a freelancer to replace that income.
2. Learn the skills you need to be a freelancer. You don’t wake up one morning and decide to start earning money as a freelance copywriter, for example. You need to learn the skills needed to write copy.
3. Tell everyone you know that you are starting to freelance. If you are planning to be a freelance copywriter, for example, get the word out to your network. I have some web designer friends, and I have found that they are a great resource for copy projects.
4. Set up a website for your freelance business. This allows prospective clients to find you and gives you some credibility. Plus, it would allow you to blog and show off your expertise. (It’s also a great place to put samples of your work and testimonials from happy clients.)
5. Set up a Facebook page for your freelance business. Send requests for people to like it, and make a point of posting articles to the page that relate to what you do.
6. Use Linked-in to make connections with people who might hire you. It also helps to be active in Linked-in groups that relate to your field. I’ve had quite a few inquiries come through Linked-in.
7. Use sites like Upwork to find your first clients. The pay isn’t great, but (depending on what you do) you will need samples of your work to show prospects. As you gain experience, you will eventually get better-paying clients.

Like I said, I don’t know what you do for freelancing. However, the biggest break of my life came when I got hired by Clayton Makepeace, a highly-successful copywriter. I spent three years working for him and learning from him. The lessons I learned and the connections I made were crucial to my success as a freelancer.

If you can find a mentor or an employer who can teach you the skills you need to be a successful freelancer, I recommend you go for it. For me, it made all the difference.
